The Delta Wing runs on ethanol and utilizes an abundance of carbon fiber to cut it’s weight down to a mere 1,030 lbs (with driver). Engineers were able to create the narrow, bullet-like front end because the majority of the downforce is produced by the massive rear wing structure.
Powered by a 300hp four-cylinder, it's the Delta Wings radical shape, which brings the drag coefficient down to 0.24, that allows this IndyCar concept to achieve 200+ mph top speeds while maintaining a relatively low rate of fuel consumption.
With what can only be described as a radical new shape, the Delta Wing concept is, as far as we're concerned, the most unique concept released thus far. But is that enough to bring interest back to Indy? Can an eo-frienly, fighter plane design breath new life into a series many feel has fallen victim to the spec-racing syndrome? Time will tell I suppose...

Justin, great editorial, but there seems to be some misinformation. This isn't the new IndyCar concept, but rather a conceptual design for "Speed Racer 2"! ;)
