Our friends at Autocar managed to get Walter Röhrl, two-time World Rally Champion, behind the wheel of the infamous Group B Audi Quattro for an afternoon drive along the Col de Turini, a section of the Monte Carlo Rally. A wonderful bit of film that is, to our dismay, absent of the sideways, seat of your pants hoonage we've come to expect from Röhrl, but hey, it beats the matinee showing of Alice in Wonderland // [comment]

In 1987, Walter Röhrl took the Group B Audi Sport Quattro E2 to the infamous Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. One of the last opportunities for Röhrl to compete in the Group B Audi, the German driver would face off against three Group B Peugeot 205 T16s driven by 1981 World Rally Champion Ari Vatanen, Shektar Mehta and Andrea Zanussi. VIDEO // MICHELE MOUTON - FIRST LADY OF MOTOR SPORT

Born in Grasse, France on June 23rd 1951, Michele Mouton is the only woman to win a round of the World Rally Championship and is arguably the most succesful female in the history of motor sport. Following her victory at the Rallye Sanremo in 1981, Mouton would go on to finish second overall in the 1982 WRC.

In 1985, Mouton became the first woman to win the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, but subsequently quit rallying when the Group B category was banned in late 1986. With more than a decade of rally racing under her belt, Michele Mouton would leave the sport she loved in part because she had no interest in racing in the new, slower Group A catergory and also because she was eager to start a family. A dynamic personality both in and out of the car, the above video is a sort of tribute to Michele Mouton and her time behind the wheel of the famed Audi Quattro Sport S1 // [comment]
