NEWS // BMW WILL RETURN TO DTM IN 2012?

We just received word that "the BMW board has made a positive decision of general principle regarding a BMW involvement in DTM from the 2012 season." According to our source, BMWs involment in the series hinges on the new DTM regulations that are currently being developed by DMSB (German Motor Sport Association) in cooperation with DTM rights holder and promoter ITR e.V. Additionally, the development of the new regulations was supported by the engineers of Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz, and are supposed to also allow the usage of the DTM cars in other international motorsport series. Assuming all goes according to plan, BMW will enter the DTM series in 2012 using their M3 as the basis for their entry.
