Renault's 2010 Formula One entry, the R30, was unveiled this afternoon at Valencia. As expected, the French automakers latest F1 car will feature Renault's classic yellow and black livery, similar to the one used by their first F1 team from 1977-1985.
Additionally, Renault has announced that Russian Vitaly Petrov will race for the team alongside Robert Kubica. The 25 year-old, who spent the last three years racing in GP2, will be Russia's first Formula One driver.

Interesting how they're covering up the rear diffuser in the last photo!
ReplyDeleteI commend Renault for implementing the new/old livery to distance themselves from the fiasco that was 2009, but am I the only one who will think of Jordan GP, and NOT Renault, watching a bright yellow-and-black car making its way around the track? Perhaps not so good for branding.
On another note, the car doesn't look as fast as the Ferrari, McLaren and Mercedes entries we've seen thus far. And yes, that's an entirely unscientific, unsubstantiated claim. ;)
Mclaren did the same with their rear diffuser at their launch.
ReplyDeleteThat is the best looking of the 2010 cars released so far.
