2009 EUROPEAN GRAND PRIX // QUALIFYING RESULTS

Following a four week Summer break, Formula One returns to Valencia, Spain, for the eleventh round of the 2009 Championship. In what has amounted to rather eventful Summer vacation, there are a few changes we need to catch up on ahead of tomorrows race.

After an unexpected accident in Hungary, Felipe Massa has since been replaced, at least for the time being, by Ferrari test driver Luca Badoer. Rumors were swirling that seven-time World Champion Michael Schumacher would take Massa's seat in the Ferrari F60, however following a brief test session in a privately owned F2007, Schumacher was deemed unfit to return due to a neck injury he sustained during a motorcycle accident earlier this year. Additionally, Nelson Piquet, who had proven rather unsuccessful with Renault, has since been replaced by newcomer Romain Grosjean. Also of note is the addition, or should we say return, of the Canadian Grand Prix to the 2010 Formula One calendar. While the complete 2010 schedule has yet to be released, it is good to see the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve back on the F1 calendar.

Follow the link for complete results as well as some photos from this mornings qualifying... [read more]
