TIMELESS APPEAL // FERRARI'S 330 P4

While the appeal of late model performance cars can, and often does, satisfy the needs of most, it is the true classics however that capture all that we love about performance, speed and motor sport.

Few cars are able to capture that appeal more then the 1967 Ferrari 330 P4 featured above. One of only three built, this particular example (chassis number 0858) has a distinguished racing history that includes the 1000-km Trofeo Filippo Caracciolo in Monza (which it won), and a third place finish overall at the 1967 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Featuring a 4,176cc dual overhead cam 60-degree Type 237 V12, producing 480bhp at 8,500rpm, a five speed gearbox, independent front and rear suspension and four wheel disc brakes, the 330 P4 was well ahead of its time. Expected to sell for a few million dollars when it sees the auction block at the Ferrari Leggenda e Passione in Maranello on May 17, 2009, the Ferrari 330 P4 is not only a timeless classic, but a capable vintage race car with a storied carrier.
