GRAND-AM PORSCHE 250 // QUALIFYING RESULTS

Yesterday saw qualifying for the third round of the 2010 GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series, the Porsche 250. Taking pole in the Daytona Prototype class was the SunTrust Racing Ford Dallara of Angelelli and Taylor, who topped the time sheets with a 1:19.624 lap of the Barber Motorsports Park. Finishing the day some 0.037 seconds back was the Spirit of Daytona Racing Porsche Coyote of Garcia and Rice, who will start todays race from second. Rounding out the top three was the Chip Ganassi Racing BMW Riley of Pruett and Rojas, who finished qualifying 0.299 seconds off the pace of Angelelli and Taylor.

In the Grand Touring class, it was the SpeedSource Mazda RX-8 of Bomarito and Tremblay who collected pole with a 1:26.812 lap time. Starting in second will be the Racers Edge Motorsports Mazda RX-8 of Lamb and Taylor, who finished qualifying 0.019 seconds off the pace of the SpeedSource Mazda. Making it a Mazda 1-2-3 is the Team Seattle/Dempsey Racing Mazda RX-8 of James Gue and Leh Keen who finished the day a mere 0.762 seconds off the pace of Bomarito and Tremblay.
