RACE RESULTS // 58TH MOBIL 1 TWELVE HOURS OF SEBRING

The 58th Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring was, although seemingly uneventful in terms of position changes, filled with mishaps and mistakes that, in my opinion, made it an exciting race. Starting from the pole position in the LMP1 class, Team Peugeot Total and their 908HDi had little trouble maintaining their lead throughout the race.

The GT2 class was a different story entirely. A pitlane error early in the race would remove both Corvette Racing entries, while a single wheel managed take out a pair of Porsches, leaving the Ferrari F430 GTC of Risi Competizione out front, followed by a pair of V8 powered BMWs. And while some might say the race saw little to no position changes, save for those forced by error, I would argue that that is the foundation of endurance racing. Survival of the fittest.
