“Although the decision to contest the BTCC came quite late, I’m really looking forward to 2010, as I have missed racing in the UK for a few years now.” said the man from Lancashire, before adding “It’s going to be difficult, with the number of experienced drivers that will continue in the BTCC this year, but we have set our targets high”.
Boardman enjoyed a great "Independents" win in the British round of last years WTCC at Brands Hatch where he successfully fended off a train of six cars during race two to take an emotional home victory.
Further to today’s news the Special Tuning UK team are hoping to field a second Leon TSI in this years championship, with a driver announcement being made in the coming weeks.
