The Scuderia's team principal, Stefano Domenicali, has made it quite clear that he would like to see Rossi in a third car, assuming the FIA should consent to such a rule change.
And while we would love to see Rossi fill a third seat at Ferrari, it appears the Urbino native would more than likely choose rally racing over open wheel, as he has participated in a number of events, most notably the 2008 Wales Rally GB, where he finished twelfth in a M-Sport Ford Focus WRC.
“As of tomorrow my job is to ride a motorbike,” Rossi told La Gazzetta dello Sport following his F1 test in Barcelona. “I'll decide my future in a few months. I've also had an offer from Ducati. It will all be clear in a few months.”
