Lapping the circuit faster than any of the F1 cars were able to during last years Spanish Grand Prix, Rossi's performance is at the very least a bit intriguing. Now, in all fairness, a 2008 spec F1 car with slick tires should, in theory, lap the circuit faster than a 2009 spec car. So should we be all that surprised by Rossi’s lap time? Well, if you take into consideration his lack of open-wheel experience and the inherent difficulty of driving a F1 car, then yes, I suppose we should.
